1. General Requirements

1.1. Language

All abstracts must be submitted in English.

1.2. Originality

Submissions should represent original research or innovative clinical practice relevant to the Smart HAPPI-Ageing themes (Healthy, Active, Productive, Purposeful, and Inclusive ageing).

2. Abstract Formatting

To maintain a uniform appearance in the Symposium Proceedings, all abstracts must follow these formatting rules:

• Font: Times New Roman, 12-point size.
• Color: Black text only.
• Spacing: Single line spacing.
• File Format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) only.

3. Title and Authorship

3.1. Title

The title must be concise and descriptive, with a maximum length of 30 words. Use Title Case (capitalize the first letter of each major word).

3.2. Author Names

Type the First Name followed by the Family Name.

Important: Omit all degrees and professional titles (e.g., do not use PhD, MD, Prof., or Dr.).

3.3. Presenting Author

The name of the presenting author must be underlined.

3.4. Affiliations

Include the name of the institution and the country for all authors. Use superscript numbers to link authors to their respective institutions.

4. Abstract Structure

The body of the abstract must be organized under the following four mandatory headings (in bold and uppercase):

• AIMS: Clearly state the purpose of the study or the hypothesis.
• METHODS: Describe the study design, participants, setting, and primary outcome measures.
• RESULTS: Summarize the main findings with sufficient data.
• CONCLUSIONS: State the implications of the findings and how they contribute to the field of ageing.

5. Length and Restrictions

5.1. Word Limit

The content (from AIMS to CONCLUSIONS) must not exceed 300 words. The title, author names, and affiliations are excluded from this count.

5.2. Graphics

Also provide ONE figure as an infographic of your abstract.

5.3. References

Do NOT include references or citations in the abstract.

5.4. Abbreviations

Use only standard abbreviations. Define non-standard abbreviations in parentheses the first time they appear in the text.

Save your file as: HAPPI2026_Abstract_[title of abstract]_Surname_Firstname.docx
